As promised, here's an update on PremiumYarn.com's Emily's Hats for Hope Initiative... our way of supporting the Eddie the Eagle movie promotion going on . . . The Eddie the Eagle promotion is all about knitting or crocheting a hat, emblazoned with the letter "E" for Eddie, the young man who had a dream. Without any background in the sport, he decided to become an Olympic ski jumper in Calgary 1988 . . . because he had a dream. . . . which he made come true out of sheer guts and determination.

Jimmy Beans Wool, the company who initiated the promotion with the movie's producers, is inviting stitchers to create one hat for themselves, and one for a someone else (a young person . . . ). Inside each hat, you're to include a dream label for each wearer to write their own special dream.

The Eddie the Eagle promotion is all about creating hats that embody our own personal dreams, and then giving one to a young person to also inspire them to pursue their own dreams . . . We thought it was totally pertinent to go one step further, and give you a means of getting that additional hat to some deserving person, and giving him or her a touch of that dream.

Because Millie O'Donnell, the founder of Millie's Hats for Hope (see more here: https://www.facebook.com/MilliesHatsforHope/ ) is so near and dear to us, we've decided to designate her chapter as our "collection point" for any hats you may be willing to donate. But please feel free to send your hats to a local Emily's Hats for Hope Initiative.

We've also decided which yarn we'll be offering. But we wanted to be sure to give you all something special for you to use for the "E" on the hats.
Kreinik Manufacturing C.A.K.S. shoe laces
So, we're teaming up with Kreinik Manufacturing.  I'm sure you know their products . . . fabulous threads and fibers and more . . . for just about any craft or hobby you can think of.

Doug, the owner of the company, just sent me samples of their new shoe lace material. Kreinik just launched this new product in memory of Doug's son Charles, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting a fund designated for suicide prevention, addiction and grief support counseling.

We're still figuring out how much to include, and which thickness of shoe lace will work best . . . but we should know soon.
We'll be offering various colors of this cool shoe lace "yarn" to go with our PremiumYarn.com yarn.

Check back soon to see what's in store.
